- Have completed their undergraduate studies in India.
- Be applying for new admission (2025/26 entry) to the eligible LLM programme.
- Hold a first-class or high second-class degree (or equivalent) in Law (LLB or equivalent). Applicants with relevant professional experience may still be considered if their academic qualifications fall slightly below this.
- Demonstrate a clear commitment to human rights and criminal law through academic, professional, or voluntary activitie s.
- Show financial need and limited access to alternative funding.
- Preference may be given to applicants from margina lised backgrounds, including Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, religious minorities, and others who have faced systemic educational barriers.
- Work experience in human r ights, legal aid, or public interest litigation is not mandatory but will be considered an asset.
