The University of Groningen is currently accepting applications for PhD Position in Greek and/or Latin Literature in the Netherlands.
Applicants must hold a master’s degree in Latin and/or Ancient Greek literature or a related field, with strong knowledge of the classical languages. They should have a clear interest in posthumanism or environmental humanities, excellent English skills, and reading proficiency in modern academic languages or willingness to learn them.

- Hold a Master’s degree in Latin and/or Ancient Greek literature or a closely related field
- Demonstrate strong interest in posthumanist theory and/or the environmental humanities
- Have excellent knowledge of Latin and/or Ancient Greek
- Possess excellent oral and written English proficiency
- Show reading competence in relevant modern languages (e.g., German, French, Italian), or willingness to acquire it.
- Be willing to relocate to Groningen, Netherlands
- Submit a short research statement (750 words), a writing sample (max 6,000 words), academic transcripts, and references as part of the application
- Be prepared to undertake limited teaching tasks (0.4 FTE over four years)
