Erasmus School of Economics is pleased to announce the Philip Hans Franses Scholarship for exceptional non-EEA students applying to its bachelor programs. This partial tuition fee waiver supports academically outstanding candidates with financial need, offering them the chance to study at one of Europe’s leading institutions in economics and econometrics.


Eligibility for the Philip Hans Franses Scholarship is open to outstanding non-EEA applicants who have applied for one of the eligible bachelor programs at the Erasmus School of Economics. Candidates must demonstrate excellent academic performance with a minimum GPA of 8.0/10, meet all admission and mathematics exam requirements, and show clear financial need through a detailed financial statement.

Preceding the application are the qualifications which each and everyone willing and ready to apply for this scholarship must possess.



Be a national of a non-EEA country.
• Apply and register for one of the eligible bachelor programmes via Studielink and the EUR Application Portal before 1 February 2026 (15 January 2026 for International Economics and Business Economics).
• Complete the mathematics entrance exam by 1 April 2026 if required.
• Have an excellent academic record with a minimum GPA equivalent to 8.0/10.
• Demonstrate financial need through a detailed financial statement.
• Be fully enrolled by 1 September 2026.
• Complete the immigration procedure, including the required payments, by 10 July 2026.
• Hold a selection offer at the time of scholarship consideration.
• Commit to serving as an ambassador for the scholarship and the Erasmus School of Economics.
